ABOUT COCO

Hi! My name is Cohen "Coco" Lane, I'm 12 years old and I am the CEO and Founder of Coco's Cocoa for Kids and SickKids Fundraiser Ambassador.

In the winter season of 2022, I turned a lawn decoration into a fundraising idea to raise money for SickKids Hospital in Toronto. With the help of my parents, we worked on building a hot chocolate bar, set it up in our driveway in Whitby, and called it Coco's Cocoa Bar. It included flavoured hot chocolate and a variety of toppings, but little did we know what was to come. I set up my stand for 6 weekends and aimed to raise $350. By the end of my fundraiser, I raised a grand total of $6130.90.

In the holiday season of 2023, I went big! I added a full toppings bar, created custom mugs to generate more donations to SickKids, and set my goal to raise $7500. By the end of 5 weekends of fundraising, I crushed my goal and raised $14,500! That's 2500 cups of hot chocolate sold right on my driveway!​

One of my biggest achievements is being able to raise over $20,000 with 100%  of all donations going directly to SickKids and it's a commitment that is my top priority.

In my efforts to raise money for SickKids, I was honourd as the first EVER SickKids Fundraiser Ambassador! It is a huge honour and I am passionate in doing my part in bringing awareness to the hospital and children's health.

My inspiration comes from family members and friends needing the help of SickKids Hospital, who without their help, might not be here today. We are lucky to have an amazing hospital so close to home, and I thank everyone at SickKids for all the amazing work they do!

My future goal is to one day have a mini Coco's Cocoa Bar truck to reach more people and give everyone an incredible experience while giving back to a great cause, but for now, I am happy to make a difference, one hot chocolate at a time!
